Are the Hands-On Activities Open when it Rains?

Please note that our fossil site is not covered and can therefore only be open in dry weather. In case of heavy rain or snow, the fossil search remains closed for safety and quality reasons. Regardless of the weather, the “Dinoblock”, the “treasure hunt” and the “uncovering crystals” activities are open.

Catering for Groups

In our restaurant, children can choose between two menus. In addition, children can buy snacks at our kiosk as well as in our lakeside restaurant. You are welcome to consume your own food and drinks in our Waldbiergarten.

Interactive Activities for Groups

You can find our current offers, including age recommendations and prices, here. Depending on the activity, the group may need to be divided into smaller groups. You can arrange the exact group division on site. However, advance booking is required. The interactive activities are not included in the admission price.

Group Tours

We generally offer exciting tours for groups. However, due to staffing reasons, the offer is currently limited. The maximum group size is 25 people; larger groups will be divided and start ten minutes apart. The cost is €90.00 per tour. Alternatively, you can explore the circuit on your own. All exhibits are well signposted – allow at least 1.5 hours for this (without a break).

If you need to cancel due to weather or illness, please let us know in good time.

Please pay for tickets collectively at the counter, either in cash or by card. For organizational reasons, we kindly ask you to avoid payments with small change. All other group members, please wait in front of the main entrance.

Children’s Birthday without Booking a Package

Hands-on Activities for Kids

You can find our current offers, including age recommendations and prices, here. Prior knowledge: No prior knowledge is required. You’ll receive all important information on site. Equipment: All necessary materials are provided by us. You don’t need to bring any equipment, utensils, or containers. Clothing: The fossil field can be muddy after heavy rain – sturdy footwear is recommended. Dust may be generated when opening plaster blocks – clothing could get slightly dirty. Location: All activities take place in the covered hands-on hall, with the exception of fossil hunting. This is therefore weather-dependent and cannot be used in heavy rain or snow. Payment: You can pay on site in cash or by debit card and credit card. Supervision: Our staff will introduce and explain the hands-on activities, but parents are responsible for supervision. Important note: Please note that you must start at least one hour before the hands-on area closes.

Are Children Allowed to Enter the Dinosaur Museum without an Adult?

Are your children between 8 and 14 years old and want to visit with their friends alone? No problem, please just keep the following in mind: Please fill out the liability waiver for your child, sign it, and submit the declaration along with a copy of the legal guardian’s ID at the Dinosaur Museum’s ticket counter. The declaration will be kept there and is valid for your child’s subsequent visits throughout the current year. You can obtain the “Liability Waiver” form here or fill it out on-site at the ticket counter during your first visit.

How Can I Pay?

You can pay in cash, with an EC card, or by credit card. Exception: The handcart deposit (€30) must be paid in cash.

Are Dogs Allowed?

Hunde dürfen gerne zu einem Tagesausflug mit in unseren Park gebracht werden. Bitte führt eure Hunde immer an der Leine und bringt Hundebeutel mit. Listenhunde und Kampfhunde sind davon ausgenommen. Für Kampfhunde der Kategorie 2 gelten zwei Ausnahmen: Entweder sind die Hunde noch nicht geschlechtsreif oder es wurde für sie ein Negativzeugnis ausgestellt, welches auf Verlangen jederzeit vorgezeigt werden muss.
