Together you can discover life-size dinosaurs and real skeletons, explore interactive hands-on stations and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of prehistoric times.
For a break, the cozy forest beer garden and the lakeside restaurant invite you to linger.
And regardless of sunshine or rain – the museum offers exciting experiences in any weather.
Two adventure playgrounds and the Hands-on Hall offer children additional space to play, explore and solve puzzles.
On request, you can also take part in an exciting guided tour and delve even deeper into the world of dinosaurs.
Visit us with a group of 10 or more people and enjoy an unforgettable day in the realm of dinosaurs.

Please avoid paying with small change.
To keep things running as smoothly as possible, we recommend that the group meets in front of the main entrance. One person takes care of payment while the rest of the group waits on the lawn in front of the entrance. Afterwards, you can explore the museum and the dino park together.
Parking
We have plenty of free parking available. Buses and vans can also find space here – perfect for group visits.
Hands-on Hall
Our Hands-on Hall offers an exciting activity for children.
Please note the maximum number of participants per hands-on activity.
Various hands-on activities can also be selected.
For the “Searching for Fossils” activity, a second group can start after 45 minutes.
Sifting for Treasures in the Sand
(Duration: approx. 30 – 60 min.)
Little treasure hunters can go on a voyage of discovery with a sieve and shovel and sift real shark teeth, fossils and sparkling gemstones from the sand. They can choose between a small bag or a small treasure chest to collect them. Sieves and shovels are provided. Please do not bring your own containers.
Recommended age: ideal for younger children
Number of participants: 1 to approx. 35 children per sandpit

Search for fossils
(Duration: approx. 60 min. | not covered, therefore weather-dependent)
Real fossils from the Jurassic Sea are knocked out of the Jurassic limestone with our protective equipment. Goggles and hammers are provided – please do not bring your own equipment. Groups receive one find per child (up to fist size).
Recommended age: from primary school age; not suitable for kindergarten children

Expose crystals
(Duration: approx. 20 min.)
Children use a hammer to split open special rocks (geodes) and discover glittering crystals inside. Each geode is a surprise. Goggles and hammers are provided – please do not bring your own equipment.
Recommended age: from primary school age (also for kindergarten children with parental support)
Number of participants: 1 – 22 children

Gastronomy
In our catering outlets, we offer vegetarian and vegan dishes as well as meals made with certified organic ingredients. Right by the lake, our cosy indoor restaurant invites you to linger, while our idyllic forest beer garden provides the perfect setting for a relaxing snack break.
In the forest beer garden you can enjoy your own food and drinks or get delicious offers on site.
Kindergartens and Schools
The Dinosaur Museum Altmühltal is the perfect destination for school classes and kindergartens – children experience unforgettable moments here.
In addition to the reduced group prices, you will receive free accompanying persons:
· two accompanying persons are free for every 10 paying kindergarten children
· one accompanying person is free for every 10 paying students
Handcarts
We’ll be happy to reserve a handcart for you in our hands-on area. You can pick it up there by presenting a €30.00 cash deposit. There are no rental fees.
